Hey there, the gallery of the magazine covers that contain Seraph of the End chapters within is coming along nicely! If you've came across previous ones, and other magazine with Seraph of the End content, think they would look nice added there?
Excellent indeed! Different publishers could also have their own gallery to keep things neat, tidy and excellently detailed!
You were definitely right about VIZ Media though; they remove earlier releases to make room for new ones. But then don’t advertise them! Their advertisement style appears to be “Let’s make the chapters as hard to find as we can, and then remove previous ones so they’re gone forever hurhur!!” It’s an interesting method, lets see how it works out for them XD
Still the announcement (here) is a very promising development so at least they take into account constructive paths forward.
Viz could definitely do with more advertising. Shuesha is the company that manages Weekly Shounen Jump in Japan, so they're the ones who axe series really fast. Viz just has the options to take whatever is published from them.
For sure, at least they are considering developments which is always nice. As it happens also found with the covers there are already some secure in character pages and that, so can have a look through to gather them all!
Since you’re good at the news (I tried in my attempts ha) could you make sense of tying the main page news with the new ‘New and Announcements’ page? This page is where we can keep a catalogue of expanded information on all the news points from the main page. It would be great to have the images, and relevant links as well, such as where people can buy the content in question. Each post will have to be kept in a collapsible box for conciseness, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.
Since you know the ‘News and Announcements’ part of the forum, wouldn’t it be great to link it in with announcements, and a place to discuss them? Like on the main news page the (rough) idea is to click: “The 13th chapter of the manga adaption of “Seraph of the End: Guren Ichinose: Catastrophe at Sixteen” is available!” which could have a link to the relevant heading here: https://owarinoseraph.wikia.com/wiki/News to see further information, and that could have a tab to the forum for people to discuss it there, and contain it so other areas are spoiler free for those who haven’t seen it yet.
On the forum main page should we create new topics for the Guren novels, manga, and the Seraph of the End main manga itself to discuss any and all chapters? Hit me up with your thoughts!
I like all of the News things that have appeared on the site recently. That said, could you be more specific in describing what exactly you want when it comes to the site design? ShadowRyu Kei would probably be more helpful than me, too. When it comes to coding, I reference what's available to make what I want, but I don't have much experience.
I think the news link will be nice to have.
As for the forum main page, I don't think there's much point in dividing them for the various media in the series. After all, they are all part of the same universe. It's not like the forum is overwhelmingly busy either.
Oh good, I missed you, glad you like them as well. I think I'm making progress in getting the ideal news site (that will be the envy of all fandoms no less). There is indeed a specific design we could emulate; I could email it to you since it’s a great example we could improve upon and work great here.
Same here, with the code established, copying and pasting does seem to be the way ahead, for instance you can add further categories to info box templates. Regarding the news I’m attempting to make a link so that when the main page news update is clicked, it takes you to a sub heading on the main news page where it can be elaborated on. Still getting to grips with that, and can only look at previous examples of code directions and try and see what worked there.
Yes, with two on-going manga, novels, BD/DVD releases and a prized day dream of getting further seasons, news is a great way to tell everyone of everything going down. Also for merchandise, posters, anything concerning Seraph of the End, we can announce. The issue now is if people search for say “Guren manga chapter 13” online, the news on this site isn’t coming up. We have the most current information, and best overviews, only it's not showing. Your chapter 69 postponed update does appear, so there’s something on the forum news and announcements section that allows this to appear when searched. I think it’s the technical stuff, like matching with key words and that.
Good point, I was planning on establishing one heading for say future TV releases, another for manga if only so everything’s categorised. But if there’s too many we could combine it into one. Since we would be providing a link to the forum from the news page for people to discuss latest releases (where spoilers can be contained) on the forum we have “fun and games” “questions and answers” (about the wiki itself) and so forth. If we had a “Seraph of the End content” to discuss the actual material, like TV updates, latest manga releases, that could be handy. Main point was to keep everything neat and categorised, and have them for the long term.
It may be easier to make changes and test out how the main page looks with those updates. Sometimes, changing in formating somehow causes weird spacing and other odd, unintentional changes. In regards to coding and formating, you would be better off talking with ShadowRyu Kei, who has far more experience than I do.
Behold the lovely first hand experience of the what’s up with this spacing issues! There isn’t a gap on the news template itself, but it’s decided to add one for the main page news section. Just waiting for more news to see if that can fill the gap! If you come across any news, may I politely request you post it for everyone to see as you have been doing in the forum really well?
It also might be an idea to add a “Future Events” (such as pre-orders are able to be taken for the next tankoban) underneath the “News” box for upcoming content, and then when they are released we could write the announcement in the “News” box to take to our news page for further elaboration as I’m (attempting) to do now (like said tankoban has been released, click, more information on the chapters covered and cover art). Think these are good ideas?
I think so, with some new news now is the time to try again I reckon.
Glad you think so! We have a lovely new "Synopsis" section on the main page for your viewing pleasure, and a new poll on cursed gear! There's also some sweet upcoming polls me and ShadowRyu Kei have made, want to hear a few before they're released?
Yes fancy Admin, use the cool new "Announcements" feature to tell everyone of the latest chapter release! There's also a Guren manga chapter coming up I think, so if it works the way I'm thinking it could be awesome!
Sure thing! There will be some delicious surprises polls wise; well I trust I’ve made some good ones at any rate. To answer what is undoubtedly on your mind, why yes there is a select poll on everyone’s favourite silver haired, psychopathic noble manic.
That’s fine about the manga, what’s really good is the release dates. I’ll have a look round at ideas for upcoming events, though it could just be a simple box we could use and add underneath he “News” page for them. As I say, would be perfect for listing the pre-order availability for the next tankoban. Also of course use the “Announcements” feature itself on the day of release since I’m thinking it would be cool to use!
So getting in with inviting myself into this conversation ha, it's a great page Rei Furuya made, particularly how it was to differentiate the person and weapon itself. Due to the similarity the page can be removed, after the good additional information has been assimilated into the original Mahiru page (like some images, and text). Principally the information from Mahiru-no-Yo can be included on the cursed gear page. This is the place to be for information concerning the sword appearance and abilities.
The cursed gear weapons all have brilliant and unique designs. I mean really, is there actually another series with such enviable gear?! Their amazing looks are matched by their additional remarkable powers. The cursed gear page should definitely have further information alongside their images. And to explain the effects, like asumarus fan out ability. This also differentiates between the person (Mahiru) and the essentially enchanted weapon itself. A gallery for the weapons would be great to include, say the sword's physical appearance photos found on the Mahiru-no-Yo's page. Boxes of images of Shinoa’s scythe, Shinya's rifle and the spectral fiery white tiger, destroy everything blasts, the sword of Mahiru and the like would all be cool.
The status as Namanari can go under Mahiru’s section on the “Namanari” page. So yes great info, but no need for another page, just some transfers.
Do you approve of the layout and writing of the long summary I done? When the time comes, I intend to add the long summaries for the remaining episodes. Including links to names for readers to check when they first see if they want, and throughout to remind them in case they forget. I feel that's the way to go, unless there's an official template or something. Also want to add a trivia section for notable information at the end of the page, for example in Owari no Seraph: Owaranai Seraph, the fact that Yu doesn't mind bitter drinks is a key point of interest for Yu that fans may want to know.
On the home page I'll come round to adding the Guren manga (currently at two volumes I believe) underneath the main Seraph of the End manga, or as a third extension out the light novel 'catasrophe at 16.' Depends how much space there is for the volume number and isbn of the manga and the differences. Will also add the Owari no Seraph: Owaranai Seraph on the anime page as bonus animation, and don't worry I'll come running to you if I get stuck lol : )
Please give me a link to the page if you want me to look at it. I don't usually get on here too much anymore except to update the chapter summaries and check on the forum.
There are two series of the Guren manga. One has him at sixteen years old while the other has him at nineteen. Each of them already has a main page. You can find both of them under the Media -> Light Novels tab at the top of the page. The first series is complete at seven books (three English volumes and counting) while the second is ongoing with one book thus far.
No! Stay, you're a vital part of this site! If you would like a project I was thinking it would be neat to add the Guren Novels in a table, this will allow people to see the individual cover art, and that of the omnibus, if they're different, and you're the man for the job since you know it.
I presume you know the excellent news that the English translations are back on track? The fourth one is set to be released September 25th 2018 after a year interval. Also do you have any estimates when the next 19 Guren book will be released?
I'm still here. I'm just not as active as I used to be, and I just hide when the chapter spoilers come out. The official ones are usually of better quality. I just got worn-out writing and correcting things everywhere, which you can blame the fujoshi for... They made it really hard to like this series when the anime came out. I'm writing fan fiction and stuff instead.
I think the image needs to be changed. That cover is for the special release of manga volume 11 in Japan. Is there a special cover for the volume?
Also, "Yu" only has one "u" in his name. I also fixed some minor grammatical errors. Otherwise, it looks fine.
I'm glad the light novels are finally coming out in English again. I was wondering what they would do with the seventh book.
Novel series in Japan don't follow as strict of scheduling as ours do, so the release schedule can be pretty random. The Michaela LN series has been awaiting the third book for quite awhile now.
Good :D makes sense with the spoiler avoidance, the spoilers are always out to make you look at them ha. That’s understandable with how you were feeling, any strenuous work over time is taxing, hence why it’s important to take breaks, as you’re doing with writing fan fiction. What’s important to remember is that the trying work is worth it, and that your efforts are appreciated.
The real good news is that we can build what we want at our own leisure; the true prize is the Seraph of the End content itself. Also understandable with shipping wars colliding through everything, still it’s good that there’s many different reasons why people can like the anime, the more people watching, the greater the odds are more can be released after all. Also, some edits can be so funny, like this one I came across, quote: “‘Shinoa shows to be very violent. And as she teases, she doesn't mind hurting Yuichiro, punching or kicking him, calling him names from time to time.’“ It was an ultimate what the heck is this?! On that, if it’s certain pages that are targeted would it be feasible to prevent any edits entirely on them? And if people want to modify they can contact an admin with suggestions? Would maybe prevent unhelpful edits.
I think you’re right, I might have got the cover of the manga that the OVA came bundled with rather than the actual cover itself, I’ll have a look-see.
Thank you for your edits to the page, an additional reader is always helpful and you made some good ones. Yes… my bad, I realised after that “Yu” was spelt like that, after I typed it like a million times. Still I guess removing a “u” is a better edit than something like “Interests/Likes: Originally had no interests, but lately has been thinking about her comrades / Methods to increase her bust size.” (Note unsure if accurate).
Yes, brilliant the novels are back on track, random release dates as they are. May I ask what sites they come out on? And any announcements as to when they will be and become released, I think would be great news for the main page. Also if you need help with anything specific, please contact here here: email@example.com
I put protection on several pages, so only peope with accounts can modify them. If you notice someone did an intentionally harmful edit like that on a page, then you can just let me know, and I'll ban the culprit. There is an option to allow only moderators to edit certain pages, but that would make it harder to keep the page up to date and correct minor grammatical errors and details like that.
Unfortunately, the fan books haven't been published in English, so even I'm uncertain about the authenticity of the details fans write from those books.
I usually come across the fan translations for the light novel chapters on tumblr. The official English chapters are the best, but the vampire LNs haven't been released in English yet. I put the hyperlinks for the tumblr references I used under the References section at the bottom of the individual LN chapters in question. You can find them by clicking on those links.
As for the releases of the official series, I come across them as news spread on tumblr, Anime News Network, or just by clicking on the next volume listed on Amazon and similar sites.
Sure thing, though for the most part it’s fortunate that virtually all edits here are constructive, unlike some other sites, those poor moderators ha.
On that note, the Akane and Mika “considered family” issue on Yu’s page seems to be attracting various edits, and some back and forths. Would a good bypass for this be to change the ‘Relatives’ part of their info box’s to ‘Hyakuya Orphanage family” or “Relatives: Hyakuya Orphanage Family.” And then have the family’s name under that, like:
Relatives (Hyakuya orphanage (chosen?) family)
And so forth for everyone
Parents didn’t adopt them, so they’re not an “adopted family” in that sense, but they lived together and were chosen family members. Not only does this avoid the whole oh why are they saying Mika is a “best friend” and “considered family,” are they trying to pigeonhole their bond, and avoid addressing something? Which is what seems to be drawing unhelpful edits, it also discourages the tempting edits that arise here. Most importantly it covers all the orphanage chosen family members that were together before the end of the world, and as they continued to be under vampire control.
Learning Japanese would be a cool thing, what better way to practically learn than to translate the books, I’ll take it up further down the line. You should too if you would like, learning cool handy new things and all.
Nice one for including the links, the website has a clickable green thing that takes you to a page where the text (since they're images) can be affected by translator tools. The 1st tankobon thing for the Guren manga was released November 2nd, 2017, 2nd April 4th, 2018 and they generally follow three in a year, but otherwise there’s no like release date timeline of everything. Good thinking about Amazon, but by googling the names and release dates, the only site I’ve found with release dates is here: http://kc.kodansha.co.jp/calendar under the monthly shonen magazine release date 3/8/18 this is the third tankobon for the Guren manga?
I think the key thing is to find sites, like Kodansha or anything that delivers the manga, books, and that, learn their release dates to establish our own news gathering tools. So far we have the above link for the tankobons, but not the individual chapters released monthly, only came across them by chance (like the 13th one on the news now). Shonen Jump releases the main manga near the beginning of each month (not sure if there’s a release schedule though). Need to find a direct source for the novels, and for new BD/DVD editions that continue to be released.
There are always some editing wars going on. I'm not too bothered by what they list under family for Yu and Mika unless it's something obnoxiously incorrect like "lover." There is a kid who is mentioned specifically in the light novel prequels, and Mahiru "adopts" him before he ever meets Yu. In that case, would he still be considered Yu's family?
I've studied Japanese Hiragana and Katakana, but I've been lazy in regards to Kanji.
I'm not sure how to navagate for that website, and I honestly don't know much about the Guren manga. I was too disappointed by the art to get into it since I already know the story from reading the LNs.
Jump SQ in Japanese releases the Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign manga on the 4th of every month. Weekly Shonen Jump in English releases the chapter on the 4th or on the following Monday.
Those editing wars! With the listed orphans there, it might be a bulwark to avoid the edits entirely. Nope for that kid, “orphanage family” would cover Mikaela Hyakuya, Yūichirō Hyakuya, Kōta Hyakuya, Ako Hyakuya, Akane Hyakuya, Chihiro Hyakuya, Fumie Hyakuya because that’s who Yu, for the first time considered to be his family, and it is them who appear in his memories/visions/other manifestations demonstrating their importance (to him and the story, like they're the ones people think of regarding the Hyakuya orphanage). Time may not be a factor, but they spent some in the capital together as well and together they functioned as a family.
That’s a good effort! Dedication and determination are sweeter of course, keep at it!
On that website, every header at the top, say of "Comics & Novels" just takes you to the section further down the page. Under each point the green button takes you to Kodansha, for example Guren manga 1 has this At which point translator tools can be applied to the text. It would be better to appreciate everything the manga can bring of course! If it’s different art wise that differentiates it from the main series right? And to see art of the characters younger and in a pre ruined world-setting sounds amazing! Whenever you like it might be a sound project to find the “differences between the manga and story” even if it’s a trivia section, that could be great for the site?
Got it, under the impression Jump SQ and WSJ were the same thing! Yet information about chapter 70 including the cover art is apparently available now, I must locate it.
Ooh, will be even more delicious when we come to a solution then. Could make the case for the anime family, manga can only cover so much.
Yes there's those amazing tables and info that helps puts the Seraph of the End wiki in a League of it's own! Whilst there are some for the manga and anime, there could be some for the manga and novels.
No idea why Viz doesn't publicise it more?! I had no idea,
Make a note, on wiki's there are secret badges, you can get a silver one for creating a page, then editing it within an hour, go add edits to your newly created pages stat!
A good to do list one. Fandom are making efforts to either faze out tables and scroll boxes since they don't work well on phones and Ipads and the like, OR they are currently working on making them work. One or the other, I'm not entirely sure haha. There is a portability hub and info they've recently released, something that might be worth bearing in mind as the Fandoms sites move into the future and all that.
Yes, and because of licensing they don't keep the covers of previous issues which is rather helpful... Should we create a page for Viz Media to contain all the magazine covers that contain Seraph of the End chapters? And secure them whilst they're released?
Yes, it's quite a strange badge. You would get it gradually, make a page, then edit it within an hour. You do this 100 times: create 100 pages, an edit within an hour for each one (Admins can see the badges by choosing the "customize" so you could see the description there. I recently made pages on characters, and made some great (if I do say so myself! Ha) Long summary sections for the episodes that didn't have one. Great and meaningful chance to get the make a 100 edits in a day badge, which I got! On that badge, It would be so funny to change the "caffienated" badge picture to that of Ferid's manic face when he's telling Krul that they have to be allies!
Never get complacent! You can never have too many badges/achievements and they don't diminish in value because you have a lot of them. Bet everyone's fond of this unsolicited totally deep advice! Even though it's true!
So far, all of the magazine covers have featured Yu, so I think they've all ended up in his gallergy somehow. If we were to put them elsewhere, I'm not sure where we would put them. I have access to all of the English magazine issues, so I can procure any that are missing.
That’s good, some haven’t such as thechapter 70 (in this one) and the covers of them could still be included since those magazines contain Seraph of the End Chapters. This Jump Database page has the covers, well two of them. If you have access to the English magazine issues that is better than perfect, I think we should gather them all in one place, this place!
Should we make a page for WSJ on this site? To give an overview that they publish the manga chapters, but the greater purpose would be to include every front cover of the magazine with Seraph of the End chapters within them. This would include the covers with Yu on them that we've already got, but also the covers like the above that don't. Purpose is for people to see the magazines that have Seraph of the End chapters within. To have all these front covers, and info on the publisher, is something no other site, not even WSJ themselves do. That other site aims to do it but our layout could afford for more details on the company.
Yes there’s honestly no one ever quite like Ferid, truly something else to say the least. My profile shows the 100 edits in a day badge, the current top right badge that has Ako as the photo. Might be good to switch the photos up a bit, if Ako could take Aoi Sangu’s place on the “trailblazer” add five articles to categories badge.
Then Aoi Sangu can take Ferid’s image of the “Making your mark” 10 edits badge. That leaves Ferid’s face to be shown, and I think it would be so funny to add the below image to the 100 edits in a day caffeinated (change to “Determined”? Or possibly “deranged”) badge, that would be amazing!
Naturally this ==> must be the "caffienated" make 100 edits in a day badge photo! (In episode 14 gallery)
1) Your profile, “More Badges You Can Earn!” Customize badges at the bottom
2) Bottom of the page, it might be worth thinking of some cool names to rename the badges as, Seraph of the End style. “Determined” could be good for “Caffienated”
3) For now “Revert to default” Choose file, that Ferid face. It shouldn’t need editing and that beauty should show right in the middle! And it's as simple as that!
Good idea, we have options. A page like Jump Square can provide information on the manga publisher (links on the site can lead to our own entry there) with this layout for manga covers. Japanese, English every manga cover for the magazines that publish the chapters. The third tab for the volume covers, 4th tab the Guren manga covers. A fifth for one offs like PASH! magazine.
The necessity of this (Individual chapters publishers?) page provides key information on the publisher, every magazine cover all in one place. Critically it will show the magazine covers that have chapters within, but don’t have Seraph of the End characters on them, aka chapter 70. Always handy for people to see a cover, and get it knowing it has the chapter within.
But they’re perfect for showing artwork of the characters! Also as admin only you can edit them for yourself (you have some nice ones) and others, and that Ferid face is priceless!
Yes, if tomorrow I make a page “Shonen Jump” we can provide a brief overview that it publishes the series, and have a gallery with every magazine cover that has Seraph of the End chapters within. That would be nice indeed.
I'm one of the admins of The Promised Neverland Wiki. I would like to have a partnership (read:affiliation) with your community. This is our wordmark, by the way. If you agree to my proposal, please notify me by replying to the same thread.
I'm looking forward to your positive response. If you have any questions, or if I'm asking in the wrong place, please let me know. Thank you~!
Heyy, so I've only now started ONS, and I was looking through the episode list on Wikipedia, and on here, after that. I saw how reliable you were on the Season 3 topic, so I was wondering if you could help me on the episodes' release dates, the mangas (never read one, but I'd love to start), what sites are the most, etc. Basically, the whole anime introduction thing, since it's /much/ different than a tv show. I don't know if it's easier to text on Twitter, Instagram, etc. I have them both, if you want them, just request, please. I really think you could help me through this.
