Long Summary Edit
Kimizuki drives Shinoa's squad down the Tomei Expressway somewhere between Tokyo and Nagoya. Yu leaps out to slay it, and a series of pranks ensue. Kimizuki lets Yu drive the rest of the way to the Ebina rest stop. Shinoa briefs them on their mission. Their sources say that at least ten nobles are located in Nagoya, and they will wipe them out before vampire reinforces arrive.
Even though the black demon series weapons are stronger, Shinoa warns the squad that the other soldiers are so skilled at teamwork that they can trounce Shinoa's squad easily.
At the Ebina rest stop, Guren hangs out with his squad members. While Colonel Norito Goshi fawns over an ancient dirty magazine, Colonel Mito Jūjō reports no signs of vampire presence at the rest shop.
While soldiers arrive in army jeeps, Major General Shinya Hīragi arrives with a luxury sports car he found abandoned on the side of the road. The car was so loud that Shinya had to place numerous sound-muffling illusion wards on the front of the car. Guren mentions that the car is so so low that it cannot even drive up steps, but Shinya says that type of car was a pointless heap even before the catastrophe.
Guren asks why Shinya is there since this was not his assignment. He answers that he wanted to help Guren on this suicide mission.
Shinoa's squad arrives late, and Shinoa tries to make a joke of it. Guren scolds her vehemently, telling her to shut her mouth and this mission is not a game. He tells her to go home if she cannot even follow basic regulations. Yu apologizes and claims it was his fault. When Guren asks him if he wants to go home, Yu begs him to let him come along. Guren promises to punish him later.
Guren gives a speech, warning them that he will not put up with any playing around and that some of them will die. Second Lieutenant Shigure Yukimi passes out the individual orders for each squad.
